He should have sent it back, but he is not a complainer. This obviously caused the order of medium rare to be pretty much raw, it was basically a tartar. However, my sons steak was the 12oz filet and seemed to be cooked the same as my mothers 8oz. Almost everyone in party enjoyed the main dishes, my mothers steak was cooked perfectly. Most dishes were excellent, the oyster and salads were great. seating for anyone, especially on a birthday. We were then seated in a closet not really part of the restaurant with no ambiance. We checked in and stood by the door like outcasts for almost 30minutes, getting seated at close to 9 for an 830 reservation on my sons 16th birthday. The restaurant is a fun experience if you have a lot of money to spend, and you don't really care about what you are eating, The service is always very good and the jazz from the bar is great. The chef was unable to do this himself? Everyone who cooks steak knows how to test for correct doneness. Made him cut open the middle of his steak so the manager could confirm it was cooked correctly. The manager came to the table to see about the meat being cooked wrong, made our guest cut open his steak in front of him, and then again when the properly cooked steak came out. So for the money they lose throwing out expensive steaks, I guess they make up serving seafood less than what is described on them menu? Our dining partners steak, probably $90 also, was overcooked. Our second time at Eddie V's this month, and I think we're done. No little salad on the side as described online. Not stuffed at all (the shrimp were too small to butterfly and stuff), just crab on top of shrimp. Dry and unappetizing, topped not with fresh herbs, but greasy breadcrumbs. Backfin or something very shredded for the crab. Maybe at some point in time, but not last night. The lobster way overshadowed the little steaks. $96 for a small lobster tail and two tiny tiny pieces of steak, perhaps a filet cut in half? Hard to tell.
